Woh! Plot Twist!

OK so that came out of left field...
I came home today and my mom said my gastroenterologist's office called and said they wanted more blood work(I had some done the week before last as routine Remicade three month blood work) because of a concern. So I finally coaxed the cause of the concern from my mother and she said a low platelet count. My heart goes into overdrive because I know I only have about 28 minutes to live(I watch House, MD, I know how platelets work!)
So after I get over the initial shock and realizing I probably have at least an hour I whip out the laptop and do what Google was invented for, health research. After 3 hours of typing in as many forms of "Low Platelet Count" as I can, having two mini strokes and completely stripping myself naked and checking my entire body for signs of bruising or internal hemorrhage later I decide to just leave it in the very capable hands of Dr. P and do everything she tells me to do.

P.S. I haven't forgotten to do a review of The Hunger Games. I just kept reading and got sucked in so much that I'm now almost done the entire trilogy so I'll just review the set as a whole. Just sos you know! :)

Joining The Bandwagon....

So I started reading The Hunger Games on the weekend and I'm almost done which for me is saying something(considering that the last non-Crohn's related book I read took me about eight months to get through. It is soooooooooooo good! In fact when I finish it I will probably post a review.
Gotta go and read it now! EEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Pneumonia? What?

The gastroenterologist appointment went well... in terms of my bowels that is. I went in thinking that my pneumonia was gone and came out with a for blood work, a requisition for a chest x-ray and a requisition for a sputum culture. OK, what? Apparently she doesn't like that despite having two previous chest x-rays, a flu shot and a pneumonia shot I still managed to get so sick. "We are going to get to the bottom of it" I think was her official statement. Still, horkin' up some phlegm for a sputum culture isn't exactly pleasant if you think about it. Sorry for the visual. And I'm now on the 6 month plan to see her again.

I survived march Break, now back to the norm tomorrow! Cheers! :)

Popcorn Is Really Neat, Fun To Make And Fun To Eat...

....unless you have active Crohn's Disease.
Pajama Bowling was on the agenda for today and along with that all you can eat popcorn! Which I haven't had in a year and a half.
Turns out there might be a reason for that absence. A bit of pain in my Crohnsie Bit. But all in all feelin' OK.
Next to try: perhaps Mini-Wheats, a favourite past time cereal.

Guess Where I Was This Afternoon?

Just some pics. Feelin' kinda icky because I haven't had it in 10 weeks now and my body is revolting.
Also, there is a picture of my arm after they removed the sticky square that holds down the IV. I think I may be allergic to whatever's in the glue.
Anyway....
